利用网易开源镜像，打造一个全内存运行的Tiny Core Linux系统 (二)

——设置ADSL-pppoe拨号上网

很多人家里装了ADSL宽带，又不会设置宽带路由内部自动拨号，需要通过pppoe拨号上网。在Tiny Core里如何做呢？

在linux里有不同的拨号程序，一般有pppd，rp-pppoe，GUI界面的NetworkManager-gnome等。在TC里都有很多这些软件包，包括无线上网的软件包，都可以由你来定制自己需要的。虽然没找到rp-pppoe的tcz包，也可以找源码编译。你在其它linux版本里见到的应用，一般都能应用到TC里。

这是大家熟悉的NetworkManager-gnome，虽然功能强大，但需要GNOME，xfce或LXDE等界面，还要一些库文件。喜欢简单快捷的，或用来做一个移动U盘系统，首选 rp-pppoe 。可以到这里

1.在

http://mirrors.163.com/tinycorelinux/3.x/release_candidates/distribution_files/ 下载kernel和initrd两个文件  http://mirrors.163.com/tinycorelinux/3.x/release_candidates/distribution_files/bzImage

http://mirrors.163.com/tinycorelinux/3.x/release_candidates/distribution_files/tinycore.gz

保存到fat32或ext格式分区的boot目录文件夹

(也可以下载ISO文件

http://distro.ibiblio.org/tinycorelinux/3.x/release/tinycore-current.iso

然后提取两个文件出来。)

2.设置GRUB项目,menu.lst添加类似例子：

title tinycore

root (hd0,8)

kernel /boot/bzImage tce=hda9 lang=zh_CN.UTF-8

initrd /boot/tinycore.gz

就这样就可以运行一个最基本的X界面Linux系统。所有Linux老手，熟手，高手都很容易上手。如果你的网络环境在局域网或设置了ADSL宽带路由，是DHCP的将自动联网，指定IP的还要手动设置。如果是ADSL拨号上网，那就需要先下载相关软件

Philosophies

As a quick summary, Tiny Core:

Loads itself into RAM from storage, then mounts applications on

storage, or installs applications to RAM from storage.

Tiny Core is different because users are not encouraged to

perform a 'traditional', hard-drive installation of the operating

system. Sure, a hard drive installation is possible, but Tiny Core

is designed to run from a RAM copy created at boot time. Besides

being fast, this protects system files from changes and ensures a

pristine system on every reboot. Easy, fast, and simple

renew-ability and stability is a principle goal of Tiny Core.
