David Fincher’s 1999 film, Fight Club, based on a novel by Chuck Palahniuk The nameless narrator (Norton) is a traveling automobile company employee who suffers from insomnia. He becomes addicted to attending support groups and pretending to be a victim, but the presence of another impostor, Marla Singer (Bonham Carter), disturbs him, so he negotiates with her to avoid their meeting at the same groups. After a flight home from a business trip, the narrator finds his apartment destroyed by an explosion. He calls Tyler Durden. FIGHT ! ! ! Every evening, I died and every evening, I was born again. Resurrected. 我每晚都会死一次,可是又重生一次。复活过来。 The things you own end up owning you. When you have insomnia, you’re never really asleep and you’re never really awake. 得失眠症的人无法真正入睡,也没有清醒的时刻。 First you have to give up. First you have to know, not fear, know that someday you’re gonna die. It’s only after we’ve lost everyting that we’re free to do anyting. * Actors 布拉德·皮特 (Edward Norton) ...... The tragedy, she said, was that she didn’t. The narrator, held by Tyler at gunpoint, realizes that in sharing the same body with Tyler, he himself is actually holding the gun. He fires it into his mouth, shooting through the cheek without killing himself. The explosives detonate, collapsing the buildings, and the narrator and Marla watch the scene, holding hands. *
