计算机科学与技术学科涉及数学、物理、通信、电子等学科的基础知识，围绕计算机系统的设计与制造，以及利用计算机进行信息获取、表示、存储、处理、传输和运用等领域方向，开展理论、原理、方法、技术、系统和应用等方面的研究。包括科学与技术两方面，两者相辅相成、互为作用、高度融合。

计算机科学与技术一级学科下设2个二级学科方向：计算机软件与理论、计算机应用技术。本学科旨在培养学生掌握坚实的计算机科学与技术的基础理论和系统的专门知识，了解学科的发展现状、趋势及研究前沿，较熟练地掌握一门外国语；具有严谨求实的科学态度和作风，能够运用计算机科学与技术学科的方法、技术与工具从事该领域的基础研究、应用基础研究、应用研究、关键技术创新及系统的设计、开发与管理工作，具有从事本学科和相关学科领域的科学研究或独立担负专门技术工做的能力。

Computer Science and Technology is a discipline that spans theory and practice. It requires thinking both in abstract terms and in concrete terms. A central focus is on processes for information acquisition, expression, storage, processing, transmission, and application. This discipline has strong connections to other disciplines, such as mathematics, physics, telecommunication, electronics, and so on. Some of crucial areas are theory, method, principle, technology, system and application.

Thefirst-level discipline, computer science and technology, iscomposed of two second-level disciplines, which are computer software and theory,and computer application technology.The purpose of this discipline is totrain students to master the basic theory and systematic expertise, tounderstand the current research status, and trends of the subject, to master aforeign language. All Students strive to be able to use the knowledge,techniques and tools learned in this discipline to do various research andmanagement work, to engage in scientific research in computer science and technologyor other related fields.
