What the drawing is trying to portray is that two handicapped people are depending on each other while the crutch is left behind them.

The picture seems to be humorous and preposterous (荒谬的) but thought –provoking (激发)on second thoughts, which serves to remind us that cooperation is of utmost significance and without it, the society we live in can not going smoothly.

Undoubtedly, the purpose of the drawing is to illustrate that due attention has to be attracted to the fact that cooperation is of great value in reality. With more emphasis put on “building a harmonious society”, people in mounting numbers begin to realize that we should serve each other.

Obviously, cooperation is pervasive(普及,渗透) in nearly every field of our society, which, in a certain sense, should be given deep consideration. It is commonly acknowledged that each member of the team, during the game, must cooperate with his teammates, and otherwise, they would lose the game no matter how skillful each individual player might be.

The vivid picture, to my mind, is urging us to cultivate the awareness of the public that helping each other has always been the traditional virtue of our nation. As the central task of our country is to “build a well-off society in all-round way, more efforts should be made to strengthen the cooperation of people. Only in this way, can we lead a harmonious and happy life. (249 words)

                              Cooperation

If we want to complete our work effectively and efficiently in this busy, modern world, we must all learn to cooperate with others. As the cartoon shows, if we lose our partner, then we will fail as well.

This lesson in cooperation may seem rather simple, as most people are taught that they should cooperate when they are children in school. However, many people still make the mistake by the men in the picture: they believe others must fail for their own success. Supposing that a company leader assigns two workers to do a project together, and both of them impatiently are waiting for a promotion. The two believe they must beat their “enemy” to win the promotion. To achieve this they may do things to make their partner in unfavorable position, such as interrupting their work whenever they can.  In the end, without realizing it, they have ruined their own project, too. So, for our common benefit, we ought to be cooperative. Additionally, cooperation can save us a lot of time and energy if each person handles the tasks that they do best.

It can be difficult to be cooperative with someone you dislike. In such a situation, just sit calmly and clear your mind for a minute. Focus on your work, instead of your partner. Perhaps in working together with him, you’ll learn that he is a really nice person. Even if this doesn’t happen, it’s still worth a try. 242 words

  范文(一)

It goes without saying that this picture aims at revealing a current problem: what kind of attitude we will choose when facing difficulties and challenges. In this drawing, a football-player is prepared to kick a ball towards the net, where a goal-keeper keeps guard. However, in the player’s mind appears a scene in which the keeper becomes a giant covering the net completely, while the latter imagines that he turns out to be a dwarf standing below the huge net. Obviously, both of them lack courage and confidence in front of challenges.

These two players represent those who often choose to magnify (夸大) their enemies and dangers, and lose their confidence to fight against them. As a result, what they can achieve in the end is nothing but failure. This sad situation can be best illustrated in the fact that some people lose their chance of success in the entrance examination for the MA program. When preparing for the exam, they often feel depressed thinking that they are never well-prepared. In fact, they will soon realize that it is not as difficult as they thought before. In a word, they suffer from underestimating their abilities.

In our life, what we need most is self-insurance and a proper view of challenges before us. Therefore, we should bear in mind that our competitors may not be as terrible as expected, and our painstaking efforts will pay off as long as we arm ourselves with courage and confidence. Only in this way can we overcome any difficulties and challenges. (259 words)

范文(二)

The drawing depicts a football player about to take a close shot on the goal. Thought bubbles (幻想) are shown for both the player taking the shot and the goalkeeper. While the player taking the shot pictures a huge goalkeeper who nearly fills up the entire goal, the goalkeeper pictures himself as being much smaller than he actually is.

The drawing intends to show us that we often underestimate ourselves and overestimate others. In the goalkeeper's mind, he has the impossible task of defending a huge goal, while the player taking the shot imagines a gigantic goalkeeper who could stop nearly any shot. In fact, neither of the players has an accurate view of the challenge they are facing. The drawing reminds us that it is important to have a clear picture of the challenges we face in life.

Examples of this phenomenon can be found in many other situations. For instance, the mountain climber may see the mountain as taller than it really is, or the student might see his or her relatively simple class project as an insurmountable (不可超越的) task. (191 words)

范文(三)

This cartoon humorously presents a scene of a football game with the two rivals facing each other. The striker on one team is preparing to make a decisive shoot while the goal-keeper on the opposite team is posing for defense. However, under overwhelming pressure both of them are losing their confidence. The striker magnifies the goal-keeper in his mind so that chances of shooting the ball by him are slim. Likewise, the goal-keeper minimizes his own image as if he couldn’t defend the goal successfully.
   Apparently
, the purpose of the picture is to emphasize the importance of self-confidence in our daily life. On account of the quickening pace of life, competition becomes increasingly fierce in all walks of life, imposing tremendous pressure on all individuals. The past few years have witnessed a dramatic increase in the difficulty of examinations and employment. We must maintain self-confidence and optimism in the face of challenges so as to survive and succeed. Suppose we are inclined to overestimate our rivals or problems and neglect our ability, we will become hesitating and doubtful of ourselves, unable to fulfill even a simple task. Therefore, it is necessary to embrace the strong faith that we are indomitable.
A case in point is the star hurdler, Liu Xiang. He invariably (always) imagines that he can win every hurdle race, never shrinking in front of other experienced players. That’s why he works wonders again and again. As for me, I am participating in the graduate school admission examination with thousands of competitors. Having prepared sufficiently for one year, I have powerful self-assurance that I can cruise (巡航) to my dream university. As the saying goes, our only enemy is ourselves. Only by building strong self-confidence can we demonstrate grace under pressure and turn our dreams into reality. 300 words

范文(一)

Recent years have witnessed a substantial increase in the use of the word “fan” — cinema fans, jazz fans, especially football fans. To show their love for their idols(偶像), these fans are willing to do anything. As is described in the first photo, a young man paints the name of Beckham on his face. While in the second photo, another man is “transforming” his appearance into Beckham by having his hair cut in “Beckham-style”. To this end he has to pay 300 yuan —at least 20 times as much as the normal price.

Undoubtedly, what the cartoon describes goes far beyond Beckham and a haircut. Instead, it conveys the message that an increasing number of people have become fans of various idols in modern society. This is all right. At least it shows that people in modern society can afford the time and money to support whomever they adore (崇拜) and whatever they have a passion for. It goes without saying (不用说) that the adoration and passion can enrich our life, which is otherwise quite dull.

However, fans, if going too far, will do more harm than good. First of all, like the man in the second photo, fans have to pay for their “beloved” a lot of their hard-earned money, which might be used for better purpose, say, to help the impoverished (贫穷的) children from poverty-stricken families back to school. To make matters worse, fans waste a considerable amount of valuable time because they often go out of their way to court (追求) the excitement of meeting their “beloved” face to face. Worst of all, supporters of different idols sometimes go insane (发疯) as to fight to death for their own “god’.

To conclude, it is costly for fans in terms of money and time and, in some cases, life if they go to the extreme in pursuit of what they love. Rather than having a haircut for 300 yuan, it is advisable for us to spend more time improving ourselves by flipping through (浏览) the pages of Shakespeare, appreciating the idyllic (田园般的) landscapes of Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), enjoying the enchanting (美妙的) rhythms of Beethoven and watching Beckham’s wonderful performance in the field occasionally. 389 words

范文(二)

It goes without saying that the pictures reflect a common and serious problem in China—worship of celebrities among young people. In the left hand picturea man has had David Beckham‘s name written on his face. In the right hand picturea man who is having a haircut asks his barber to cut his hair on the model of David Beckhamthe popular British soccer star.

It is not uncommon for Chinese young people to have super stars as their idols. Most of them are fans of certain basketball playersfootball playerssingersactors and actresses at home and abroad. These fans not only watch the matches, TV serials and movies starring their heroesbut also pay a large sum of money to gain access to a live showa concert and so on. Moreoverthey imitate their idols in almost every aspect of their livessuch as their hair stylesglasses and clothes.

There is nothing wrong for one to have his own role model. Howeverif people adore the pop stars to the extent of losing self-controlthey misunderstand the significance of popular culture. Anywaypopular culture is to enrich our life. Young people should learn how to live their own lives instead of blindly following others’ footsteps.

范文(三)

As is vividly described in the two pictures, many young people are fans of stars and they try every means to show their adoration. The first photo shows a face of a guy who has the name “Beckham”—a famous British footballer written on his face, while in the second picture another guy spends 300 yuan—a big sum of money for many people doing a hairstyle of Beckham.
The photos clearly reveal a serious and pervasive social problem nowadays. First of all, there is no denying that many youngsters want to be famous or rich overnight, therefore their focus is only on the success of the superstars, ignoring the fact that the famous people have to overcome many hardships and difficulties before they attain their success. A case in point is Beckham or Liu Xiang. What’s more, following the footsteps of superstars will waste the youngsters’ precious time. They are at a prime time to learn new knowledge and lay a solid foundation for their future career. Sheer adoration of stars will ruin their study and their future. Last but not least, some stars are not the ideal idols for young people, for example, the famous footballer Maradona used to abuse drugs. This, of course, has a negative effect on the development of the young people.

2005年作文题目解说与范文范文(一)

The cartoon symbolically depicts (描绘) how three sons and a daughter treat their oldhelpless father. They each stand in a different corner of a football field. The eldest son kicks out the fatherwho huddles up (卷缩) into a ball. The other children are prepared to ward him off (挡住). It is sad to see none of them is willing to receive their father.

The picture is thought-provoking(发人深省), and what it illustrates is a common phenomenon in today’s society: many grown-up children refuse to support their aging parents. While they enjoy a comfortable lifetheir parents are neglected and reduced to utter povertyas these elderly people have grown so physically weak that they no longer have the means to support themselves. I think these children have betrayed their own conscience and therefore may subject themselves to social contempt and criticism.

According to Chinese cultureto be kind to one’s parents is the height of virtue. We owe so much to our parents in that they not only gave us life but have done much in bringing us up. It is against nature for us to shirk (逃避, 推卸) the responsibility of taking care of our parents when they are old. Ratherwe have the duty to pay back their love by making their later years enjoyable and happy. 171 words

范文(二)

In the picture, there are five people, in the middle of which is an old man who is crouching (卷缩). Around the old man are three young men and a young woman, each of whom is in the front of a goal.

I think the picture means that neither of the sons and the daughter will look after their father when he is old. They regard their father as a burden to live with although it is their duty to support parents when they grow up. The old man is like a football, since all of his sons and daughter want to abandon him and keep him far away from themselves.
It is no doubt that this phenomenon is becoming common in modern society, but it is not a good manner for young people to imitate. Most parents devote all their lives to bring up their children. They give their children everything they have just because of love and hope. They won’t blame you even when you treat them in a bad way. Therefore, it is necessary and compulsory for children to love and take after parents when parents are old. 195 words

范文(一)

In the picture presented to us, a boy is running on annular tracks and reaching the finishing line. Heavily sweating as he is, a happy smile hangs on his lips. However,  there is an arrow marked with “Beginning”.
  Though this picture only describes
a runner who is going to start a new run after reaching the finishing line, yet it demonstrates a universal law that governs the development of mankind. In other words, if we want to make constant progress we must keep forging ahead instead of resting on laurels. Robertson once said, “Whenever he is satisfied with what he does, he has reached his culminating point—he will progress no more.”
This reminds me of Picasso, whose works greatly influenced the path of 20th century art. But what has impressed me most is not the notable success he has achieved but his enterprising spirit. Besides “the greatest artist of the 20th century”,  is also acclaimed as “the youngest artist in the world” because he unremittingly pursued and explored new styles of painting all his life. After producing his most famous postimpressionist (后期印象派) style, he later developed many other styles and even at the last moment of his life he was creating a new painting. I firmly believe that any person, any people or any country who ever wants to realize dreams and accomplish wonders should learn from Picasso and takes ends as new beginnings.

It is vividly depicted in the cartoon that a boy is running along the racetrack with painstaking effortssweat pouring downing his face. After a long journeyhe is making the final spurt(冲刺) toward the finishing linewith strong determination to become the champion. It seems that he could rest for a while to enjoy the ecstasy of victory. Howeverstraight ahead lies a sign which indicates a new “starting point” and urges him to continue rushing to the next destination. [图画图表描述段]

A case in point (恰当的例子) is the successful launching of “Shenzhou spacecraft which sets China in a high position of aviation(航空)and space flight. Although it means a great achievement for us Chinesewe are facing new challenges in the future and need to do further research in space technology. Another illustration is closely related to usthe examinees. (面试)If we pass this test and are fortunately admitted by a universitywe shall not stop making efforts. Insteadwe are confronted with the challenge of conquering the difficult graduate courses. We still have to strive for success in our future academic studyemployment and career. On the wholethese examples effectively clarify the saying that Destination is another starting point.[举例论证段] (248 words)

  范文()

The drawing vividly shows a runner who is arriving at the finishing line that is also the point that he has started from. In the drawingthe runner is running around the track of a playground. On both side of the runnerthere are two poles and a line between them. On the ground there are two signs that say "ENDING" and "STARTING". [图画图表描述段]

The painter wants to tell us that just like running whatever we are doing we should never stop making progress. The ending point just means a new starting point at which we should set new goals and continue to pursue them. This view is absolutely right in every sense. First and foremost(首先),it applies to individuals as in such a competitive world everybody is trying to get ahead. Furthermore corporation and organizations of any kind should also embrace (信奉) this view for they act as an independent person in the market and should always look ahead for new opening and possibilities to enhance business. Last but not leastthe country on the whole should move forward in terms of politicseconomyand culture so that we China as a nation can gain sustained respect from other peoples. [意义阐释段]

Examples to prove the view are abundant. The most persuasive are the cases of famous athletes like Fu Mingxia and Deng Yapingwhose success is gained through non-stop efforts. It goes without saying that if they had been content with being just a regional or national champion and stopped practicing, they wouldn’t have accomplished so much and become world-famous. By contrast a lot of people choose to take a rest to enjoy their small success and thus lose the motivation for further achievement. Similarlyplenty of companies are merged (兼并) by bigger and more powerful ones just because they are overjoyed with their small profits and unaware of the danger posed broughtby more ambitious rivals. In sum (总之)keeping making progress should be the right attitude towards life and work for everybody and even for a country. [举例论证段] (387)

    范文(一)

The above two pictures have shaped sharp contrast to each other. In one picture, a flower grows in a greenhouse and is in full bloom in spite of the outside rain. But in the other, the flower, moved outside and without the protection of the green, which is raised in a greenhouse and carefully protected, cannot stand natural wind and rain at all.

It is most likely that the drawer means to compare children in our country to the flower in his drawings and reflect a problem in the present education of our children. For one thing, nowadays, most children are brought up by their parents with tender care. Parents always try their best to meet the children’s demands, to provide them with the best environment of growth and study and to  protect them form any possible harms, setbacks (挫折) and sufferings. For another, owing to the present examination-oriented education system, most children ant too heavily burdened with studies to have time to take part in social activities, so they learn little about the society, the real world outside their family and school. Growing up in such a manner and such an environment, the children will inevitably and naturally lack the ability to stand sufferings and overcome obstacles when they leave their parents and step into the society.

To sum up, the problem of children’s education must be solved timely and effectively because it is they who constitute the future of our country.

        范文(二)

The set of drawings above vividly depicts the destiny of a flower in different circumstances. As is shown in the first cartoon, the flower is placed in a comfortable greenhouse which shelters it from the threatening lightening and storm. With proper temperature, moisture and fertilizer, the flower is growing in full bloom. On the contrary, when removed from the greenhouse and exposed to the driving rain, the flower soon fades and withers(枯萎), with the petals cast about (脱落) on the grounds. [图画图表描述段]

To begin with, the purpose of the drawings is to show us that the flower growing in the greenhouse cannot withstand the test of the storm, yet the symbolic meanings subtly conveyed should be taken more seriously. The delicate flower is naturally associated with young people, to be specific, the only children in our current society the greenhouse epitomizes(成为……缩影, 体现,代表) parents doting(溺爱) care and abundant material supplies that can shield the children from the storms, or the harsh reality. Once the young people begin to seek independence and accept challenges from the real world, they are found too spoiled to be strong enough in the face of difficulties. [意义阐释段]

Accordingly (therefore), it is vital for us to derive (推理出) positive implication from these thought-provoking drawings. On the one handwe can frequently use them to enlighten the youth to be more independent in life. On the other hand,  parents should be sensible enough to give their children more freedom to deal with troubles and problems. Only by undergoing more challenges and toils in adversity can young people cultivate strong personality and ability, and only in this way can they become winners in this competitive world. [建议措施段]

范文(三)

The pair of illustrations here presents a striking contrast of the different fate of flowers in and out of the greenhouse, as is demonstrated vividly in the picture. In the first picture, the flower grows and blossoms in the greenhouse. When taken out and exposed to the elements (风雷雨等) of nature, however, the flower readily withers and dies. The radical change of its fate is truly interesting as well as thought-provoking.

The drawings here are pregnant with (富于……的) twofold interpretations, skin-deep and profound. On the surface level, one may conclude that a flower growing in the greenhouse can never withstand the violent storms outside. Symbolically, the flower actually stands for anything that has lived in a comfortable environment so long that it becomes vulnerable. (易受攻击的、易受伤害的) The storms, on the other hand, can be interpreted as any challenge or adversity that is to be experienced and braved challenged. Anyone who wishes to survive and thrive must learn to cope with changes and challenges in different, and often more hostile, environments.

Accordingly, the set of drawings has its tremendous implications in our life, and particularly in our education. For a long time, the younger generation in China has been accustomed to “greenhouse” of their helicopter parents, and is thus incapable of handling life’s challenges independently. As soon as confronted with challenges of real life, those tender “flowers” readily “wither” and turn out to be failures. It thus becomes imperative, when one considers of the subtle implications of the illustrations here, that the “greenhouse” must be removed so that our “flowers of youth” could learn to grow, survive and even thrive against all odds and challenges of life. After all, it is comfort that kills and it is challenge that enlivens, as Plato, the renowned Greek philosopher, observes.

Note: A helicopter parent is a term for a person who pays extremely close attention to his or her child or children, particularly at educational institutions. They rush to prevent any harm or failure from befalling them or letting them learn from their own mistakes, sometimes even contrary to the children's wishes. They are so named because, like a helicopter they hover closely overhead, rarely out of reach whether their children need them or not.

The picture vividly depicts a lovely American girl in traditional Chinese costume with a sweet smile on her face. She wears ribbons, necklaces and other accessories that are characteristic of the clothes of a certain Chinese minority group. Undoubtedly, the costume has added oriental charm to her beautiful look/appearance/features. [图画图表描述段]

What the picture conveys goes far beyond only a new fashion trend. Instead, it carries cultural meanings. The fact that people from different countries are attracted to mysterious Chinese culture indicates that to some extent a culture can be accepted, respected, appreciated and shared internationally. In other words, a nation's unique culture can become international through worldwide economic and cultural exchanges. Since the trend of globalization become irresistible, cultural communication can effectively improve mutual understanding and friendship. [意义阐释段]

In my opinion/ From my perspective, national cultures as priceless spiritual treasure should be preserved and cherished. Meanwhile, there are good reasons to advocate international culture for those ideas from the other cultures, controversial or even absurd at first sight, can provide a different perspective for us to observe the world in the long run. However, when we are confronted with a different culture we should be sensible enough to absorb its essence and to resist its dark side. Only in this way can we promote cultural development positively and make our world dimensional, colorful and vigorous. [建议措施段]

范文(二)

At first sight of the picture, my eyes are brightened by the pretty girl, beaming with a smile. She is a typical American girl, but she is dressed in our traditional Chinese costume.

Though such an unexpected and yet harmonious design, the picture conveys a deep and soul-stirring exciting meaning. The girl stands for two different cultureswestern and eastern cultures, which symbolizes the harmonious blending of the two cultures. And thus the picture assumes a kind of peaceful and inspiring beauty.

When it comes to cultural blending, we should attach importance to two factors. On the one hand, with economic globalization, the blending of different cultures has become a necessary trend of the times. Furthermore, the fact that all cultures are both open to and infiltrating (渗透) into each other lays down the foundation for cultural blending. On the other hand, maintaining and vitalizing national cultures are most important in cultural blending—what have been and will always be most appealing to foreigners are the unique characteristics of national cultures. Only on this basis can we achieve efficient cross-cultural communication and promote world peace and prosperity.

            2001年作文题目解说与范文

mong all the worthy feelings of mankind, love is probably the noblest, but everyone has his/her own understanding of it. There has been a discussion recently on the issue in a newspaper. Write an essa

范文(一)

When we use the word “love”, we do not simply mean an attraction to a person of the opposite sex, which is a very narrow definition of the word. The picture above illustrates the real meaning of love, by stressing the fact that love is emotional strength, which can support us no matter how dark the world around us becomes. In fact, throughout history people of many different cultures have regarded love as the noblest of human emotions. [现象现状说明段]

As an example of the power of love, we should remember how the Chinese people of all nationalities respond to the call to help the victims of natural disasters every year. Although their incomes are still low by international standards, people all over the country do not hesitate to donate whatever they can——be it money or goods——to help their needy fellow citizens. Moreover, they do this with no thought of gain for themselves. [举例论证段]

In my opinion, the best way to show love is to help people who are more unfortunate than we are. We should always be ready to give a helping hand to those who are in trouble, no matter whether they are family members or complete strangers. In this way, we can help to make the world a better place for you and for me and the entire human race, and as the picture shows, the darker the shadows of sorrow become,  the more brightly the lamp of love shines. [归纳结论段]

  (范文)二

Love is of utmost importance to us humans. Everybody not only needs love, but also should give others love. As can be seen from the picture, Love is a lamp which is brighter in darker places.” This is indeed true. People in darker places need more light than other people. Maybe even a dim light can give them much hope for a better life. Maybe just a thread of light will call forth their strength and courage to help them step out of their difficulties. [现象现状说明段]

I can think of no better illustration of this idea than the following examples. When someone is starving to death, just a little food and water from you may save his life. Again, when a little girl in a poor rural area drops out of school because of poverty, just a small sum of money from you may support her to finish school and change her life. In these circumstances you have given love which is like a lamp in a dark place where light is most needed. [举例论证段]

To sum up, we should offer our help to all the needed. We expect to get love from others and we also give love to others. So when you see someone in difficulty or in distress and in need of help, don't hesitate to give your love to him. If so, I believe that the relationship between people will be harmonious and that our society will be a better place for us to live in. [归纳结论段]

(范文)三

In the picture presented to us, an oil lamp gives out bright flame against the dark background. The flame is designed to be a child’s smile, so innocent and pure. The oil lamp here is a symbol of love, which is noblest among all the worthy feelings of mankind. Just as the Chinese characters in the picture say, love is a lamp; the darker the background is, the brighter it looks. It is true that the harder the situation is, the more valuable the love is.
  This picture reminds me of
one of our national heroes, Lin Zexu. At the end of the 19th century, he was exiled by the Qing Government to a border town in Xinjiang, where people were extremely plr, in severe lack of water and suffering constant dust storms. But he was never discouraged by the harsh conditions. He called on people to plant trees, open ditches and build reservoirs, thus greatly improving the living conditions there. Even today’s people are benefiting from these projects. Who can deny that resulted from the sincere love of a most courageous person?

The best way to show love, I think, is to devote ourselves to our work and our nation. No matter where we work, what we do and how harsh the environment is, we must try our best to shoulder the responsibility of the job so as to help others live better and make contribution to our nation’s development.
