FINAL FLING FOR GOLDEN GENERATION
Cristiano Ronaldo and Maniche struck a goal in each half to fire hosts Portugal into the Euro 2004 final with a 2-1 win over Holland in Lisbon.
Portugal took the lead on 26 minutes when Deco's left-wing corner found Ronaldo unmarked in the six-yard box and his downward header beat Edwin van der Sar.
Holland had chances through Marc Overmars, who volleyed over, while an offside flag saw Ruud van Nistelrooy's effort disallowed, before Luis Figo's curling effort hit the post.
Maniche doubled Portugal's lead in the 58th minute when he brilliantly took a short corner in his stride and drilled a 25-yard effort into the top corner, but Jorge Andrade's own goal five minutes later gave Holland a lifeline.
However, Portugal's 'Golden Generation' held firm against an onslaught from the Oranje to book a place in Sunday's showpiece against either the Czech Republic or Greece.
