Title: MATLAB-based License Plate Recognition System

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to develop a license plate recognition system using MATLAB. License plate recognition (LPR) is an important technology for automatic vehicle identification and traffic management. This system will be able to accurately detect the license plate in an image, extract and recognize its characters, and finally, provide the recognized plate number as an output.

The proposed system will consist of several stages. First, the image will undergo preprocessing techniques such as noise removal, contrast enhancement, and image binarization. Then, the license plate region will be detected using edge detection and morphological operations. After that, the characters present in the license plate will be segmented and extracted using techniques like connected component analysis and contour detection.
