The person I admire the most is Yuan Longping. He is widely known as the Father of Hybrid Rice. As is known to all, his new hybrid rice transformed China from food deficiency to food security and benefited the whole world at the same time. For this he won the Medal of the Republic and the World Food Prize. Although he was famous, he never sought fame or adulation, but rather focused only on hard work and results that could help eradicated poverty and lift people out of hunger.
He is a role model for our generation. I am so moved by his scientific spirit that I am determined to brave the challenges and try different ways to solve my problems. I learn from him that only with devotion and persistence can I overcome difficulties and make a contribution to the society.
