On July 18th, 400 fresh roses from Kenya arrived at Changsha Huanghua Airport by air. Under the supervision of the Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs, these flowers were exported to Uzbekistan through the Changsha Huanghua Comprehensive Bonded Zone in the form of transshipment trade on the same day. This marks the first transshipment trade of African fresh flowers in China.
Yu Qing, deputy director of Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs, explained that transshipment trade, also known as intermediary trade, which involves the import and export of goods that are traded not directly between the producing and consuming countries, but through a third country.
Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs took a proactive approach, worked closely with business experts and held a seminar with the company. They also established a "green channel" in support of the transshipment trade. On the morning of July 18th, the flowers were promptly declared for import and the customs inspection was completed. At noon, Hunan's first-ever Plant Transshipment Phytosanitary Certificate was granted.
Changsha Huanghua Airport Customs stated that measures would be taken to streamline customs clearance procedures, aiming to support such new forms of trade as transshipment. This initiative is designed to bolster the open economic development of Hunan and to contribute to the province's trade and economic cooperation with African countries. (By Yang Yingying, Huang Chao)
