(i) Give the molecular formula of this alkene.

(ii) Explain why the alkene in (i) exhibits geometric isomerism.

(ii) There is restricted rotation around the C-C double bond. This means that there are two different groups on either side of the C-C bond. 

解析思路

For (i), simply count the number of hydrogens and carbons on this alkene. If the schematic form seems confusing, draw out the full structural formula.

对于(i)来说，只需要数清楚这一烯烃中包含多少氢原子和多少碳原子就能解决问题。但如果原理图看起来令人困惑，那大家可以画出完整的结构式。

For (ii), whenever the questions asks about isomerism due to a double bond, always mention these two points. 

当问题提到因双键问题而引起异构现象时需要回答参考答案中的两个得分点。
