【Power BI and SAP Hana】How Power BI connect SAP Hana

When We refer the Microsoft Official document to connect with SAP hana using Power BI desktop,

I found we need to download a SAP HANA CLIENT for Windows computers first. But the official document didnot provide the most accurate link.see below for the direct link.

2, Download the SAP Client software(Need registration)

3,The issue encountered when install SAP hana Client

下载后的文件如下：

Extract 后如下，点击hdbsetup 进行安装

 

Cannot install

  Cannot install Microsoft C/C++ Runtime

    Starting external program C:\Users\syluo\Desktop\SAP BW\5 Power BI with SAP Hana\rclient120_win64\client\msdev2015_vcredist_x64.exe

      Program terminated with exit code 1638

 

第一次Google 后的结果是说，没有Microsoft visual C++ Redistribution, 于是下载了最新的redist 安装包， ，安装后还是继续报上面的错误，再一次google, 参考如下文章说是The server already has Visual C++ 2017 installed.

Error 1638 means another version of the product is already installed as mentioned by Aaron Stebner on the following thread:

于是果断在Control panel 里删掉了新安装的Microsoft Visual C++ 2013, 2015

然后换一种SAP hana 的安装方式，这个时候很快（1min）安装成功。
