So I got this Mi Mix 3 phone 3 weeks back, switching from Galaxy S8, this phone has been great except that I couldn't use the NFC payment service, which caused quite a bit of inconvinience.
Long story short, to use the "pay in store" feature in Google pay, your phone will need to support "Host card emulation (HCE) " and you need to do the following.
1. Load google pay and make sure you can add credit card to your account
2. give full permissions to google pay, of which "Using NFC" is the most important. The default setting is "asking before using", which can prevent google pay from functioning normally. It's under setting-more application-google payPlease give full permissions to google pay, of which "Using NFC" is the most important. 3. Turn "Smart Lock" in setting on and off
4. In "more connection" setting, turn on NFC, set default application as google pay, and then switch to SIM NFC and back to HCE again.
Now if you tag your phone on EFPOS terminals, Google pay should automatically pay for the purchase.
