install vsftpd on Ubuntu 14.04
1. /etc/vsftpd.conf.
the modification to this conf file is same as on Ubuntu 12.04.
2.
there is no /etc/init.d/vsftpd, while Ubuntu 12.04, it does.
so use the below commands for vsftpd on Ubuntu 14.04:
sudo service vsftpd start
sudo service vsftpd status

notice:

if can't login Ubuntu ftp server on Windows, try the below command to disable Ubuntu firewall:

'ufw disalbe'
