How to mount disks in Linux Manjaro

Here is going to introduce two ways to mount disk. manually and automatically

manually

  1. Find your “File System” by the command df -l
  2. mount it by “mount” command
  • Some usage of “mount”
    • mount /dev/hda1 /mnt mount /dev/hda1 on /mnt
    • mount -o ro /dev/hda1 /mnt #mount -o ro /dev/hda1 on /mnt by mode "read olny"
    • mount -o loop /tmp/image.iso /mnt/cdrom mount /tmp/image.iso on /mnt/cdrom by mode “loop” virtually

automatically

  1. Get the UUID of the disk
    Input sudo blkid in Bash, and then the table of the disk are listed in bash. Find the UUID relatived to the disk.

  2. edit /etc/fastab by vim, add the content: UUID=XXX MountPoint disk_type defaults 0 0

  3. save and reboot
