Documentation
Filling an internal table with the bottom-up strategy, you have
to pay move costs several times depending on the depth of the data
structure. The contents of nested inner tables are moved to every
superordinate level of the data structure.
On the contrary, the top-down startegy fills the outer tables first
and updates the inner tables directly by using "LOOP ... ASSIGNING".
That is, the contents of inner tables are only moved once.
