VMWare Workstation 8 requires CPU support X64 technique

  When installing the VMWare Workstation 8 on my Thinkpad T60P I meet the failue message box that promt my CPU does not support some features that VMWare Workstation 8 requires. I turn the VT-x on in the BIOS but the problem still appears. After check the releas notes I found the new version software requires CPU to support X64 technique.  My CPU is T2600 that is to say I have to upgrade it to T7200/T7400/T7600 if I want to use the VMWare Workstation 8. But there is no budget or plan. What a pity!
