Windows CE 5.0
You add projects to an OS design by creating a project from the File menu or by inserting an existing project from the Project menu.
Projects can include the following:
- Applications
- Dynamic-link libraries (DLLs)
- Static libraries
- Transport layers
Make sure that the Catalog items necessary to support your project are included in your OS design.
You can add custom build settings from the Custom Build Actions tab.
By default, applications, DLLs, and transport layer projects are entered into CE.bib as modules.Static libraries are entered as files.
Applications and static libraries appear automatically in the Windows directory on your device.
DLLs and transport layer projects are assigned the attributes Hidden and System by default.
To modify a project in your OS design, you can modify the associated binary image builder file, typically called Project.bib, to set options that control how the project is loaded into memory on the target device.
To update the Project.bib file
- From the View menu, choose Workspace.
- Choose the ParameterView tab.
- Expand the parameter list, and then expand the Project Specific Files folder.
- Double-click the Project.bib file.
- Modify the MODULES section of Project.bib.
The following code example shows a possible entry in this file.
MODULES ; Name Path Memory Type : ------------ -------------------------------------------------- mycomp.exe $(_FLATRELEASEDIR)\mycomp.exe NK S
This entry loads Mycomp.exe into the NK memory block.
By specifying S as a type for the file, the file loads as a system file in the run-time image.
