          The adult girls will wear gorgeous kimono to worship in the shrine. Obon Festival Date: August 13 - August 16 Obon Festival is in memory of the ancestors and is the largest festival in Japan except the New Year holiday. Obon Festival is Japan's Golden Week holiday, many companies will have 7-15 days summer vacation. People will return home to reunite with their loved ones or travel together.
