create Mailboxes using addresses other than the default

how to create Mailboxes using addresses other than the default MBAnnnn ? I need to create more than 9,999 mailboxes per node, so need to either use an MBB device as well as MBA or increase the device number to 5 numeric rather than 4. 

 

OpenVMS V7.3-2 and later (and current settings of the system parameter DEVICE_NAMING allowing it) permit up to 32,767 units per device controller.

This change is particularly useful when you need large numbers of MB mailbox devices (as is the case here) and BG TCP/IP Services socket devices (as is the case on some of the busier servers on IP networks).

Applications that can't tolerate this increase can see this mechanism disabled via the DEVICE_NAMING system parameter, obviously.
