Are people following or aware of the XML/JSON "debate"? Things like
this:
http://www.b-list.org/weblog/2006/dec/21/i-cant-believe-its-not-xml/
Consider this statement: "JSON, as a data format, runs fast and loose.
The entire format can be exhaustively defined on a single, short page
(in fact, it's exhaustively defined in a little sidebar; everything else
is just pretty pictures to make it easier to understand). (Here is that
definition: http://json.org/)"
This XML/JSON question is WAY over my head, but many of the points being
made are quite interesting and they make sense to me.
My question is, does XBRL have anything that it can learn from this
JSON/XML debate? Seems to me that there is LOTS to learn! I would be
curious what people think.
