如何方便的监控REORG的进度

 

 

环境: DB2 UDB

产品：DB2 UDB

平台：跨平台

版本： V8.2，V9.1, V9.5

 

 

问题描述:

在REORG大表的时候，我们想知道REORG的进度，但是发现LIST UTILITIES SHOW DETAIL的输出里没有REORG的内容

 

原因：

LIST UTILITIES命令不支持REORG。

 

通过LIST UTILITIES可以监控如下工具的操作进度

 

* Backup

* Restore

* Crash recovery

* Load

* Rebalance

 

用SHOW DETAIL选项能够看到操作的状态。那么如何监控REORG呢？

 

 

 

解决方法：

我们可以用db2pd 这个从V8.2新增的诊断工具来监控REORG的进度。使用 –REORG 选项即可

例子如下：

 

 

db2 reorg table sales1

 

db2pd –db sample –reorg

Database Partition 0 -- Database SAMPLE -- Active -- Up 0 days 00:20:06

 

Table Reorg Stats:

Problem Description:Customer is not able to run a list utilities show

details while running a reorg.

 

Problem Resolution :Found the following from our documentation reorg is

not supported under list utilities:

 

Utility progress monitoring

 

You can now monitor the progress of the following operations:

 

* Backup

* Restore

* Crash recovery

* Load

* Rebalance

 

Use the SHOW DETAIL option of the LIST UTILITY command to see the status

of the operation.

 

If you use the Control Center, you can also monitor the progress of

running utilities in the Utility Status Manager window.
