Introduction
Monkey explorer is a is a travel guide application based on a fun, interactive and participatory interface. The aim is to provide a special experience for the users as if they were informed by a local guide.
The idea was inspired from a program which names Hub during our second-year study.
How did we start
The aim of the Hub Program is to find an interesting problematic around a theme that they give and create a demo of our product during a weekend.
So during these two days, we chose to build our program in Flutter and design the app in Adobe XD.
We were three students in the groupe, luckily one of our teamate is proficient in UI/UX design, and the rest of us are passionate in coding.
So we learnt Kotlin from zero during two days by writing the code, and we succeed to show a really basic(not very beautiful, but fast prodcution) demo at the end.
And then we found our groupe was really well-formed, the theme and the problematic was innovative, and we are very movative to continue this project.

Choose of language
Since the project originated from the hub, we had to do a demo for 2 days, as we had chosen Flutter as the first language.
However, following our progress on the project, Flutter’s technology turned out to be an inappropriate choice, the Widget operation of the Framework was very limiting for the development of the Monkey Explorer interface.
What we wanted to keep was its specificity and visual identity, so we approached another freer cross-platform framework that is React Native.
One of the most attractive advantages of React Native is its short development time, such as hot reloading. We can see the changed files and the results of the changes in real time. When loading new files, we can also keep the program running normally.
At the same time, using a large number of standard components provided by the framework to speed up this process can save our development costs overall.
Where is it today?
Monkey is still in the development phase, the speed of the development is limited because we are currently in the last year of college. We will try to launch the beta test in 2022. Monkey will need a large number of testers in order to properly improve their system and create a database of interesting places to visit and informations about them such as events, markets, etc.
With all the beta testing foundations, the app can best launch on the Apple Store and Play Store next year.
Forecast before 2022
We would like to have :
A complete prototype that has a developed interface and a fluid system
A backends that correctly stores databases
An official Monkey Explorer website
