International Champions Cup: Real Madrid 3 Chelsea 1 Real Madrid have clinched the International Champions Cup with a dominant 3-1 victory over former coach Jose Mourinho's Chelsea. In front of an electrifying atmosphere at a packed Sun Life Stadium, Chelsea midfielder Ramires quickly cancelled out Marcelo's opener before Real superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored a world-class brace to break Mercurial Vapor 9 Football contest open. Carlo Ancelotti's side immediately took control of the match, dominating possession and forcing their opponents to scrounge out chances on the break. In the early stages, Chelsea were up to the challenge and scored with their first chance of the match but the overwhelming Madrid pressure was decisive, despite keeper Iker Casillas having to make several fine saves early in the second half. After their dominance in the first 15 minutes, Madrid deservedly took the lead after Luka Modric's through ball put Marcelo into a dangerous position. Adidas F50 Adizero Chelsea defender Gary Cahill decided to stand off, the Brazilian smashed the ball low in the far corner, giving Petr Cech no chance. The lead did not last long however as clever interplay between Romelu Lukaku and Ramires saw the latter burst through the last line of defence in trademark style. and deftly chip the approaching Casillas. An even spell followed with few chances until a moment of brilliance from Ronaldo sent Madrid on their way to victory. The Portuguese star was clattered by Branislav Ivanovic in the 31st minute and he responded by dispatching a sublime free-kick over the wall that Cech could keep out despite getting a glove to the ball. Chelsea enjoyed their best period of the match in the 10 minutes after half-time with Casillas making two excellent saves from the impressive Eden Hazard either side of dealing with Ivanovic's flick from Kevin De Bruyne's corner. But Ronaldo again quashed their challenge in the 57th minute with a superbly timed run and header past Cech after being picked out by Isco's precise cross. The game opened up significantly from that point as Chelsea poured forward and Madrid attempted to threaten on the counter-attack. In a bizarre moment, a pitch invader hugged and chatted to Ronaldo as the former Manchester United star attempted to coerce him off the pitch. Madrid were unlucky not to increase the scoreline after Angel Di Maria's wonderful first-time volley went agonisingly wide and Alvaro Morata's injury-time strike was ruled out for offside.
