rman restore get ora-19612 error

今天在做备份集有效性测试时在用rman restore过程中碰到ora-19612错误.

metalink的一篇文章解决了这个问题:

Symptoms

RMAN appears to be creating corrupt backuppieces.  The backups will not restore:

ORA-19870: error reading backup piece X
ORA-19612: datafile 60 not restored due to missing or corrupt data

The backups are NOT compressed and in this case, written to disk.

Cause

RMAN 10.2.0.4 is being used to restore a backup taken by RMAN 10.2.0.3.

There is a bug in 10.2.0.3 that cause the unused block compression metadata in a backuppiece to be
incompatible with 10.2.0.4.
There is no problem if 10.2.0.3 is used for the restore.

Solution

1. Apply the 10.2.0.4 PSR to the target and take a new backup.
OR
2. Use a 10.2.0.3 executable for the restore.

因为之前做的一直是10.2.0.3的restore,而且在今天的restore过程中第一个备份集是可以复原的,因此没有想到版本问题,记录一下.

扩展:如果备份集只有一个,那么在用10.2.0.3 restore 10.2.0.4时是否可以成功呢?有兴趣的可以测试一下:)
