问题描述:
Given a binary tree, find its minimum depth.
The minimum depth is the number of nodes along the shortest path from the root node down to the nearest leaf node.
思路分析:
这属于深度优先搜索的题目,但涉及到二叉树我们自然而然想到了递归算法的常用思路:由于题目要求的是二叉树的最小深度,所以需要考虑二叉树的根节点,左子树节点和右子树节点是否为空。
- 如果根节点为null,显然二叉树的深度就是0;
- 如果根节点不为null而左子树/右子树节点为null,因为最小深度是指从根节点到叶节点的最短路径的长度,因此就可以将右子树/左子树节点看成新的根节点,递归计算出minDepth(root->right)或者minDepth(root->left),再加上“1”即可;
- 如果根节点不为null且左右子树也存在,那么就可以递归计算出minDepth(root->right)以及minDepth(root->left),并比较出值较小的一个,加上“1”即可。
代码:
/**
* Definition for a binary tree node.
* struct TreeNode {
* int val;
* TreeNode *left; //左子树节点
* TreeNode *right; //右子树节点
* TreeNode(int x) : val(x), left(NULL), right(NULL) {} //父节点初始化
* };
*/
class Solution {
public:
int minDepth(TreeNode* root) {
if (root == NULL)
return 0;
else if (root->left == NULL)
return minDepth(root->right)+1; //根节点
else if (root->right == NULL)
return minDepth(root->left)+1;
else {
int left_depth = minDepth(root->left) + 1;
int right_depth = minDepth(root->right) + 1;
if (left_depth <= right_depth)
return left_depth;
else
return right_depth;
}
}
};
