First, open up the App Store. Click on the App Store icon in the Finder, the Task Bar at the bottom of the screen, or by heading into the Applications folder. Either method will work.

To use the camera instead, click the “Use Camera” button. Hold your gift card up to the camera on your Mac and the code will automatically be captured. Note that if you have a promo code, such as one for a free game or app, you have to enter it manually; you can’t use the camera for those.
