The error happened when you set "local connection only" on the SQL Server "remote connections". The following steps will help to resolve the problem.
1. open the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration page.
2 change the remote connections to Local And Remote Connections.
3 restart the SQL Server

I had a error show that : Cannot open database "DataBaseName" requested by the login. The login failed.
After I installed the the petshop Database, I find that the petshop database is empty, and the username and password are work fine. All will be right after reinstalled the petshop database.
So, when you occuer that error, please check two items:
1. Does your database installed completely
2. whether the username and password are right.
Maybe also check
Go to Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2005 > SQL Server Management Studio
Right-click the Server name, select Properties > Security
Under Server Authentication, select SQL Server and Windows Authentication Mode
The server must be stopped and re-started before this will take effect

sp_addlogin:create login username with password='password'
sp_adduser:create user sa for login username
