Description
Applying dedicated client specific on Siebel 8.1.1.9 is unsuccessful.
Occurrence
It has occurred when applying QF0101001 (BugID 15981157) and QF0001001(BugID 15950892) on Siebel 8.1.1.9 release.
Symptoms
Running prerequisite checks...
ApplySession failed: ApplySession failed to prepare the system. Java heap space
System intact, OPatch will not attempt to restore the system
OPatch failed with error code = 73
Workaround
In order to resolve this behavior, please make following changes:
- Open command prompt, Start > Run > CMD
- Set ORACLE_HOME=c:\sia81\Client_1 (Assuming Dedicated client is installed under c:\sia81\Client_1 folder in this example)
- Navigate to $ORACLE_HOME\Opatch e.g. c:\sia81\Client_1\Opatch
- Due to bug 16087431, modify opatch.bat with workaround shown below and save the file.

5. Run opatch apply command to install QF
C:\sia81\Client_1\Opatch\Opatch apply C:\Siebel_Patch_Image\8.1.1.9.qf0101001\Windows\Client\Siebel_Web_Client
After a while, you will see following message:
Verifying the update...
Inventory check OK: Patch ID 8119230160101001 is registered in Oracle Home inventory with proper meta-data.
Files check OK: Files from Patch ID 8119230160101001 are present in Oracle Home.
OPatch succeeded.
6. Verify whether QuickFix is applied successfully by running command:
C:\sia81\Client_1\Opatch\Opatch lsinventory
