Dmidecode reports information about your system's hardware as described in your system BIOS according to the SMBIOS/DMI standard. This information typically includes system manufacturer, model name, serial number, BIOS version, asset tag as well as a lot of other details of varying level of interest and reliability depending on the manufacturer. This will often include usage status for the CPU sockets, expansion slots (e.g. AGP, PCI, ISA) and memory module slots, and the list of I/O ports (e.g. serial, parallel, USB).

flashfru is a utility for reading/writing FRU data.It is used to flash fru information by using the Intelligent Platform Management Interface. It requires that the FRU spec defined follow FRU information Storage Definitioin(V1.0),and now this utility only supports at most 10 additional custom info fileds for "Chassis","Board" and "Product" respectively. This utility supports flashing FRU data in a body with the configuration file "fruconfig.ini"(or other file user specified) or re-flashing/inserting a single item. Before re-flashing the single item,the FRU info storaged in FRU ROM must be available and intact. Because the KCS base address is a variable(0xCA2 or 0xCA8 in general,but sometimes it's not any of these two),so before using this utility to read and write FRU information, you should verify the KCS base address in "kcsconfig.ini", and this file must be in the same directory with the "flashfru" utility while using the utility. This version of utility is developped in Linux red hat 6.2.
