the default of SWFLoader's scaleContent is true. That works as wish at most time, until the size of SWF document is far different from the size of SWF content.
in debug mode, you will find the contentWidth and contentHeight refers to the 'content' of external SWF file, which is seriously different from the document of the SWF file. Flash developers may not be aware of this, since they may set the size of document on one hand, and create the content which is different in size on the other hand. That looks normal when SWF plays in Flash Player. But when it is loaded in Flex, and SWFLoader's scaleContent is set true, then the result looks unexpected.
In SWFLoader, there are several properties noteworthy:
- content
- contentWidth
- contentHeight
- loaderInfo
- loaderInfo.width
- laoderInfo.height
