分数短语作主语，谓语的形式

当分数短语作主语时，谓语的单复数形式由后面所跟的名词的形式来决定。

例如:

One third of the students are Chinese.

students是可数的所以不管是3分之几都是用复数的!取决于后面名词的单复数

One third of the space is used to hold audience.

3分之1的空间是用来容纳观众的.space空间是不可数名词所以3分之1也好,3分之2也好 都是用单数;
