一个mozilla mail 收邮件的问题

今天被mozilla mail搞得半死，在linux下装了个mozilla mail只能发邮件不能收邮件
后来在windows下面装了个thunderbird同样不能收邮件
而且问题是一样的，下面提示
host contacted, sending login inforation
然后就没有下文了
用ethereal 侦听，发现mozilla mail在登陆pop邮件服务器时多发了一条CAPA的命令，而我用的邮件服务器
不认这个。


找了半天总算在mozilla的forum里找到这样一个解决方案，下面贴出来给同样问题的人一点参考

READ THE ENTIRE INSTRUCTION SET BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES!

In this folder:
(Windows NT/2k/XP) - C:/Documents and Settings/USERNAME/Application Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/default/********.slt

(Windows 9 - C:/Windows/Application Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/default/********.slt

Right-click the "prefs.js" file and choose "Edit"

Each account has a number (1,2,3,etcetera) - you should be able to figure out which account is which number by reviewing the entries already present in prefs.js; if you have trouble, PM me and I'll assist you...

For the sake of this explanation, we'll pretend that your affected account is #2. You should see several lines beginning with 'user_pref("mail.server.server2..."). Add the line referenced above [ user_pref("mail.server.server2.auth_login", false); ] after the last entry for server 2.

Save the file and your problem should be fixed.

Before you edit prefs.js, copy it to your desktop so that you have a backup copy just in case something goes wrong; in that event, you can recover by simply copying the backup from your desktop back into the original folder.

Make sure Thunderbird is not open when you edit prefs.js.
