What is an architecht?

What is an architecht?  An Architechure should has strong IT technical background,and he also should have good communication skill. but most of all. what makes an architechure different from other IT technician,IT specialist. A viewpoint I think.

what Architecht focuses on is not detail technique,skill,but the broad knowledge on H/W,S/W and N/W.His interest is how all the components combined with each other, and by what method let the performance/cost be the most appropriate.

So An Architechure should know the main merit and demerit of each skill,technique, Language,DB,OS, H/W,N/W,  further , merit and demerit of each solution.

Sometime PM is also an architechure. sometime IT specialist is too. Who is or who is not should not be limited to their title,but their real role in a project, also characteristic of every technician.
