1. Before resetting, you should know that all add-ons and customizations are deleted, and you basically start with a fresh version of Internet Explorer once you reset Internet Explorer settings.
2. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
Step 1. Click to Search
If you use Windows XP, click Start > Run > Type the command inetcpl.cpl in the Open box > press ENTER.
If you use Windows Vista, click Start, type the command inetcpl.cpl in the Start Search box> press ENTER.
