If you are initializing build environment of AOSP, you may need to install java-jdk first. But the problem is that you will find this problem when you install sun-java6-jdk. The error information:
"Package sun-java6-jdk is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package sun-java6-jdk has no installation candidate"
The reason is that the sun-java6-jdk is not in the official support any more. But you can update the repository of your ubuntu. Please follow the steps to solve this problem.
1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sun-java-community-team/sun-java6
sudo apt-get update
2. sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
3. (OPTIONAL) sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun
Done. Thanks.
GOD blesses you, in JESUS.
