thrift是门好技术，但是，相关的书籍很少啊。

仅有的一本书，是这本《Learning Apache Thrift》ISBN：1785882740。

这书到底值不值得买呢？

先给答案吧，上百元买点什么别的不好，买这本破书。

This book was a complete waste of money and the five-star review must be fake. This book amounts to an incomplete, watered down version of "Thrift: The Missing Guide" (free online reference). In the quest to fill 160 pages, the author includes excursions in: Version control, exception handling, and client/server architecture. The last topic would be interesting if there some elaboration, but nothing. 40 pages are dedicated to graphic investigation of the fairly identical language-specific code that Thrift generates. All in all, not a surprise coming from Packt, who have a reputation for publishing books like these.

为了不习惯E文的同学，我来翻译下吧。

该书完全是浪费钱，根本配不上五星评价。

该书从Thrift在线帮助文档里面，摘取了部分就开始掺水，还他喵的不完整。

为了支撑160页的内容，

作者涉及的内容有，版本控制、异常处理、CS架构，

本来CS架构可以是很有趣的，结果书里毛都没提到。

更水的是，该书还有40页的内容是，thrift生成的代码。

总之，Packt这家享有盛誉的出版商，出版这样的书，绝不是给读者的惊喜。

至于学习的材料，还是去thrift的网站吧。
