How to install a KDM theme

Install with KDM Theme Manager:

• Install KDM Theme Manager
• Gentoo: emerge kde-misc/kdmtheme
• Debian based distros: apt-get install kdmtheme
• Other: Download from: http://beta.smileaf.org/
• Open Control Center -> System Administration -> KDM Theme Manager
• Click Administrator Mode, enter root Password,
• enable Themes and choose...
• Restart KDE
• Have fun! :-)

Manual Install:

• Download and unzip the theme archive.
• Put the theme folder in /usr/kde/VERSION/share/apps/kdm/themes
• Edit /usr/kde/VERSION/share/config/kdm/kdmrc
• Change or add the line
• Theme=/usr/kde/VERSION/share/apps/kdm/themes/
• Make sure to have UseTheme=true
• Restart KDE
• Have fun! :-)
