InfoObject,InfoSource,InfoCube,InfoProvider,DataSource辨析

 

InfoProvider：

   An InfoProvider is an object for which queries can be created or executed in BEx. InfoProviders are physical objects or sometimes logical “views” that are relevant for reporting.

在SAP BW报表中能直接基于它们提供查询创建和执行的对象都可以统称为InfoProvider，比如：InfoCube就可以是一种InfoProvider。

InfoSource:

   A logical set of information ，An InfoSource is a set of information that  is related logically.It contains all the data available for a particular business scenario.Since the master and transaction data in BW is stored in InfoObjects,an InfoSource is a set of InfoObjects that are related logically

   BW310 2005Q1 P119:An InfoSource is a collection of information that logically belongs together gathered into a single unit.The communication structure is the field structure in which the information is stored.

                             P121:An InfoSource is a quantity of InfoObjects that belong together and that contain all the information available on a business process (for example, cost center accounting). The structure where the InfoObjects are stored is called a communication structure. The communication structure is the technical realization of the InfoSource.        

InfoCube：

   An Object that is used as a basis for reports and analysis in the BW.

DataStore Object:

   A simplified functional view.A schema for transaction-level detail.This is a functional perspective

InfoObject:     

   Divided into characteristics and key figures.   Business evaluation objects are known in BI as InfoObjects. They are divided into characteristics (for example, customers), key figures (for example, revenue), units (for example, currency or amount unit), time characteristics (for example, fiscal year), and technical characteristics (for example, request number).

DataSource(PSA):

    An object that provides the BW with data in a transfer structure.

    BW310 2005Q1 P119：A DataSource describes in the form of field strutures the data that is available in a source system.The DataSource consists of the extract structure(all prepared fields) and the transfer structure(a selection of fields from the extract structure).The DataSource is replicated in SAP BW.

             DataSources subdivide the available data in a source system into separate business areas.
