1.Go to below link to download the latest stable nodejs version for MACOSX64
http://nodejs.org
2.Double click the downloaded pkg file to install
- node and npm will installed under /usr/local/bin
3.Install express framework
mkdir sample #project name
cd sample
touch package.json
npm install express --save
npm install body-parser --save
npm install cookie-parser --save
npm install multer --save
4.Create sample file to test
//sample.js
var express = require('express');
var app = express();
app.get('/',function(req,res){
res.send('Hello World!');
});
var server = app.listen(8080, function(){
//do nothing
});
5.Execute the sample.js
node sample.js
6.To access http://localhost:8080/ , Hello World! will show in the page.
You can also created the package.json to install the dependencies
1.To check the version of the dependencies
npm info express version
npm info body-parser version
npm info cookie-parser version
npm info multer version
2.Create the project folder and create the package.json file
mkdir PackageDemo
cd PackageDemo
touch package.json
vim package.json
#insert below contents inside the file:

3.Execute command to install the dependencies
npm install
#There is a node_modules created under the folder PackageDemo
