Most of us use Windows as client systems. In that case if we want to connect or ssh to Linux servers, we use Putty ( definitely there are some other tools like Cygwin, but I use Putty). The main advantage of Putty is that you don’t have to install it, just download the exe file and start using. You can download PuTTY from here. Below shown normal Putty terminal.
Its quit boring when you use regularly(at least for me).To resolve that issue I customized Putty with solarized palette. Actually it gives solarized palette for lots of other editors, IDEs and terminal emulators. then lets do it.
Download solarized palette for Putty from here. Download zip file, File name will be solarized-master.zip and size will be 11.5 MB. it contains all files, unzip it you can find folder named putty-colors-solarized .
In this folder two registry files will be there, which are marked in the side image. Now two registry files need to add to the systems. Before adding take registry backup. For that justdouble click on both the files and add those entries to system. Go to registry editor and check following registry path
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Simon Tatham\PuTTY\Sessions\ In this registry path this two entries must be there Solarized%20Dark and Solarized%20Light .
Now you can open PuTTY. You can see both the entries in PuTTY application. Since I really liked Solarized Dark I am going to use this color scheme.
Double click on Solarized Dark in PuTTY or you can select Solarized Dark and click on load button.
It will show in the Saved Sessions field.
Now you can give your server name in the saved sessions field. Here I given server name as Test Server and the ip address of the server. The default font size is 10, but I prefer 12. If you want to change font size, go to Appearance section under Windows category. Change font size in the font settings.
Save the configuration for Test Server.
This will be new PuTTY terminal.
