Generally, We classify the crosstab reports into two categoreis: static crosstab and dynamic crosstab based on whether the number of columns in the crosstab is known at design time or at run time.

Dynamic crosstab reports can be designed directly in BIRT2.2. However, if using previous version. we have to Design Engine API to match our requirement. An example is
