Portfolio of Mouwu Lin for application to the Emerging Media Program in CMU

Dear Admission Committee,

 

My name is Mouwu Lin, User ID is linmouwu1992@gmail.com and Date of Birth is07/04/1992. Here is my portfolio.

This blog contains two works from the projects I completed in undergraduate. 

 

The first one is the Organizational Process Asset Library which I designed and established all by myself in the project 'Design and Development of Information Management System of Software Engineering'. 

All of the following 3 images are actually the same page, the Login Page. I realized the function of slide of background-images with HTML tags <ul>and <li> so that the background-images will change automatically and intermittently.The background pictures are free to download from the Internet and I added the Chinese characters onto them. 

In the following pages, the users can choose the different entrances to differentsub-libraries. Background images slide was also completed here.

 

And now we can see the main page of the library. The menu bars are used fordifferentiating Process Areas. And we can see the drop-down menu is on the leftside of the page while the list of the files stays on the right side of thepage.

That’s all for the main pages in this asset library. Other accessory pages, which are designed in the same style above, will not be exhibited here. Almost every design here was fulfilled on my own, including composing the layout of the HTMLpages, writing the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and refining the pictures,etc.

 

 

And the second one is the database system in my project 'The Cafeteria ManagementSystem Development'. The comic pictures in the system were not our works. We have got the authority to use these pictures in our system from the original author.

This is the first page of the system with different portals for different users.

And this is the Login Page. Usersshould click on the right radio to indicate his or her security level beforelogging in.

The followingpage displayed the links to all the tables the user might use.

And the two pages below are the executive pages. There are also other executivepages of different operations. But I won’t present all of them here since theyare in the same pattern. The distribution of the elements, such as the buttonsor the input boxes, may differ from one page to another.

And this is all for my database system.

 

As a student majored in Computer Science, I am not strongly skilled in art. However, I still believed my previous experience of computer system design and application will do a favor to my graduate study in the field of multimediadata science of emerging media.
