Install a GitLab CE Omnibus package on centos 6.4

1. Install and configure the necessary dependencies

 yum install curl openssh-server postfix cronie

 service postfix start
 chkconfig postfix on
 lokkit -s http -s ssh

curl https://packages.gitlab.com/install/repositories/gitlab/gitlab-ce/script.rpm.sh | bash

2. Add the GitLab package server and install the package

  #  curl https://packages.gitlab.com/install/repositories/gitlab/gitlab-ce/script.rpm.sh | sudo bash
   #  yum install gitlab-ce

If you are not comfortable installing the repository through a piped script, you can find the entire script here.

Alternatively you can select and download the package manually and install using

  rpm -i gitlab-ce-XXX.rpm


3. Configure and start GitLab

 # gitlab-ctl reconfigure
