IBM CRL Intern

IBM China Research Lab is opening a number of internship （科研实习）and suppl

emental （开发实习）positions for talented Master and Ph.D. students to work o

n Service Oriented Architecture related projects. Both positions require appli

cants to have professional CS or EE training.


The work of supplemental is about Eclipse plug-in development. 
Skill requirements for supplemental are:
1. Good Java programming skills
2. Familiar with UML
3. Capable of learning new programming framework and tools very quickly
4. Strong problem solving skills
5. Experiences with Eclipse plug-in development is a big plus
6. Experiences with EMF or UML2 is a big plus
7. Good team player
8. Supplemental's working plan depends on project schedules. At peak time may  be required to work full time in lab, on average 20-30 hours per week for 1-4 months are expected.

The internship positions are open for Service oriented Architecture related ar

ea, e.g. web services, architecture refactoring, program analysis. Each intern

 will have a designated research mentor, and is expect to work on a sizeable s

elf-contained research project. Internship applicants should have the followin

g qualification:

* Need to have some basic research skill to perform task like literature surve

y, in depth compare and constrast selected subjects, such as theories, approac

hes, practices, architecture and design
* Have passion for innovation and strong initiative to work on intellectually 

challenging problems.
* Strong learning and problem solving skill.
* Must be a team player
* Have in-depth understanding of certain problem domain. Solid theoratical edu

cation
* Willing to explore new things on-demand
* Good programming skill to build validating experiments and research prototyp

es
* For Beijing applicants, can work at least 3 day full time per week at CRL of

fice, and for 4-6 months. 
* For applicants from outside Beijing, 4-6 months full-time work at CRL is req

uired. Advisor's support is strongly recommended.
