英语--连词

概念

是一种虚词，它不能独立充当句子成分，而只是连接词与词，短语与短语以及句子与句子的作用

分类

 并列连词

用来连接平行或并列的词，词组和分句，从而构成并列结构。当所有连接的成分为分句时，则构成并列句

eg. both...an,or,but,thus,so,or,for...

表引申，并列含义

and, both...and,  as well as 也；...也这样

not only...but also 不但...,而且...

Both you and I are students (并列)

Not only do they need clothing,but they are alse short of water

and 结果（那么/接下来）

祈使句 (动词原形打头)+ and（那么）+ 陈述句（一般将来时）

Go down the street,and you will find the post office

Take this medicine, and you will feel better

表示选择关系

or（或者）

1.either A or B 要么...要么...  （就近原则）

2.either A nor B 既不...也不...

3.not only A but also B

 Either you or I am going there tomorrow

 Either I or you are going there tomorrow

or （否则）

祈使句 + or(否则) + 陈述句（一般将来时）

Hurry up,or we will be late. (if not)

I must work hard,or I`ll fail in the exam. (if not)

= If I don`t study hard,I`ll fail in the exam.

otherwise 作连词，意为；否则

           相当于or,or else或if not.

We`ll go early,otherwise we may not get a seat

Seize the chance,otherwise/or/or else you will regret it

 表示意义转折或对比

but 但是（转折），while 然而（对比）

however，nevertheless,yet 然而；但是

We`ve invited the boss,but she decided not to come

She loves pop music while I like rock music
