DB2 HADR for pureScale

HADR supported in a DB2 pureScale environments starting with DB2 10.5

• DB2 pureScale environments now support DB2 high availability disaster
recovery (HADR).
 Combines the continuous availability of the DB2 pureScale Feature with the robust
disaster recovery capabilities of HADR.
 Normally you do not distribute DB2 members across different geographic locations.
 HADR excels at providing local high availability or remote disaster recovery.
• Integration of HADR with the DB2 pureScale Feature, provides a number of
advantages:
 Better synchronization. With 10.5, only ASYNCH and SUPERASYNCH were
supported.
 DDL support. HADR replicates DDL operations.
 Ease of use. HADR is easy to configure and maintain.
 Native takeover support.
− By using the TAKEOVER HADR command, you can perform either a graceful takeover (role

switch) or a forced takeover (failover).
