通过 XDMCP 远程登录

两台电脑：台式机和笔记本，台式机装了 ubuntu 6.10，笔记本装了 ubuntu 6.06LTS。一直听说 X 是C／S 架构的，远程登录和远程操作极其方便，但一直不能亲身体验。
境界一：Ubuntu 通过RDP 远程MS WINDOWS XP/2003的远程桌面。这个简单：
1， 应用程序 － Internet － 终端服务客户端，'计算机'选XP 的IP，'协议'选RDP 就OK了！
2，字符终端里输入： tsclient 回车。相当于WIN XP 的 mstsc 吧。

境界一：Ubuntu 与 MS WINDOWS 通过 VNC 互联远程桌面。
1， WIN XP 安装启动 WinVNC 服务，ubuntu 同样是 应用程序 － Internet － 终端服务客户端，'协议'选VNC
2， ubuntu 启动VNC 服务：系统－首选项－远程桌面，‘允许其它人查看你的桌面’即可以从WIN XP 里通过 WinVNC Viewer 连上 ubuntu 的桌面。

境界三：X-X，在gnome 登录窗口，选项里直接选：通过 XDMCP 远程登录(Remote Login via XDMCP...)

服务器端设置

以 ubuntu（gnome） 为例

系统 登录窗口 远程 与本地相同

系统 登录窗口 常规 反选 Disable multiple logins for a single user（否则远程登录会踢掉本机的同名登录用户，这和远程登录到 windows 的情况类似）

sudo gedit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf

修改GDM配置文件

# The greeter for xdmcp logins, usually you want a less graphically intensive

# greeter here so it’s better to leave this with gdmlogin

# RemoteGreeter=/usr/lib/gdm/gdmlogin

去掉 # 注释

[xdmcp]

Enable=false

改为 true

重新启动 ubuntu 即可。(建议：重启sudo reboot，不建议sudo gdm restart这样gdm并未生效)

客户端操作

客户端也是 ubuntu。在登录界面 选项 通过 XDMCP 远程登录。
