Problem(Abstract)

When user attempts to login with a DataStage client, they get error similar to the following except record name varies:
"Record 182EEFB0-D743-4056-8944-2396AD938725-USERIDTXP:13846 on file 29 cannot be written"

Resolving the problem

This error occurs when the DS_LICENSE directory and files within it do not have permission 777. It is not sufficient for the userid logging in to have read access...the permission must be 777.

DS_LICENSE is located in $DSHOME directory, i.e. .../IBM/InformationServer/Server/DSEngine . Check permission on DS_LICENSE directory, and if it is not 777, then change permission to 777. Ensure that this change also affects the 2-3 files in the DS_LICENSE directory.
