We officially announced the full availability (GA) of Azure Managed Lustre recently, which is a managed file system for High-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence workloads.
Earlier, the company released a preview of the service as a hosted service for customers, allowing them to focus more on their business goals, such as predicting weather patterns, studying genome sequences of diseases, and drug discovery. With the release of GA, customers have a hosting platform service that can use Lustre file system, which is an open source parallel file system. In 1999, it was born as a research project in the field of High-performance computing. It provides a high-performance distributed parallel file system with hundreds of GBps storage bandwidth and solid-state disk latency. In addition, it also integrates with Azure services such as Azure HPC computing, Azure Kubernetes services, and Azure machine learning.
