How to configure git with Tectia SSH when ssh-keygen is invalid

By some reason SSH bundled with Git for Windows Portable (version 2.21.0.windows.1) may not to work on VDI while Tectia SSH does.

Here is how you can configure git to use alternate ssh command:

Add environment variable GIT_SSH=

setx GIT_SSH “C:\Program Files (x86)\SSH Communications Security\SSH Tectia\SSH Tectia Client\ssh2.exe”

Add environment variable GIT_SSH_VARIANT

setx GIT_SSH_VARIANT “ssh”
When switching to alternate ssh command git uses simple variant by default.

OMC repos has custom port number embedded into url and simple variant doesn’t cover that. Hence ssh variant explicit configuration required.

Generate RSA key pair via ssh-keygen2 from Tectia

C:\Program Files (x86)\SSH Communications Security\SSH Tectia\SSH Tectia AUX\ssh-keygen2.exe
ssh-keygen2 --key-format openssh2 -t rsa -c “zhizheng.zhang@qq.com”
Tectia ssh2 doesn’t respect ~/.ssh configuration and stores keys at %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\SSH\UserKeys

Upload public key %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\SSH\UserKeys\id_rsa_2048_a.pub to Bitbucket | Account | SSH keys
