    /* A Reference instance is in one of four possible internal states:
     *
     * Active: Subject to special treatment by the garbage collector. Some
     * time after the collector detects that the reachability of the
     * referent has changed to the appropriate state, it changes the
     * instance's state to either Pending or Inactive, depending upon
     * whether or not the instance was registered with a queue when it was
     * created. In the former case it also adds the instance to the
     *     pending-Reference list.  Newly-created instances are Active.
     *
     * Pending: An element of the pending-Reference list, waiting to be
     * enqueued by the Reference-handler thread. Unregistered instances
     * are never in this state.
     *
     * Enqueued: An element of the queue with which the instance was
     * registered when it was created. When an instance is removed from
     * its ReferenceQueue, it is made Inactive. Unregistered instances are
     *     never in this state.
     *
     * Inactive: Nothing more to do. Once an instance becomes Inactive its
     * state will never change again.
     *
     * The state is encoded in the queue and next fields as follows:
     *
     * Active: queue = ReferenceQueue with which instance is registered, or
     * ReferenceQueue.NULL if it was not registered with a queue; next =
     *     null.
     *
     *     Pending: queue = ReferenceQueue with which instance is registered;
     *     next = this
     *
     *     Enqueued: queue = ReferenceQueue.ENQUEUED; next = Following instance
     * in queue, or this if at end of list.
     *
     *     Inactive: queue = ReferenceQueue.NULL; next = this.
     *
     * With this scheme the collector need only examine the next field in order
     * to determine whether a Reference instance requires special treatment: If
     * the next field is null then the instance is active; if it is non-null,
     * then the collector should treat the instance normally.
     *
     * To ensure that a concurrent collector can discover active Reference
     * objects without interfering with application threads that may apply
     * the enqueue() method to those objects, collectors should link
     * discovered objects through the discovered field. The discovered
     * field is also used for linking Reference objects in the pending list.

     */
    public boolean enqueue() {
        return this.queue.enqueue(this);
    }

    /* -- Constructors -- */

    Reference(T referent) {
        this(referent, null);
    }

}

3.调用ThreadLocal中的set方法时的源码:

 /**
     * Sets the current thread's copy of this thread-local variable
     * to the specified value. Most subclasses will have no need to
     * override this method, relying solely on the {@link #initialValue}
     * method to set the values of thread-locals.
     *
     * @param value the value to be stored in the current thread's copy of
     *        this thread-local.
     */
    public void set(T value) {
        Thread t = Thread.currentThread();
        ThreadLocalMap map = getMap(t);
        if (map != null)
            map.set(this, value);
        else
            createMap(t, value);
    }
   /**
     * Get the map associated with a ThreadLocal. Overridden in
     * InheritableThreadLocal.
     *
     * @param  t the current thread
     * @return the map
     */
    ThreadLocalMap getMap(Thread t) {
        return t.threadLocals;
    }

可以看出,先获取当前线程,然后通过getMap获取当前线程持有的threadlocals引用,然后将当前的ThreadLocal实例的this当作key,存储到TheadLocalMap中,TheadLocalMap中的set方法将需要保存的value存储到Entry中,然后将Entry存储到ThreadLocalMap中的tab数组中
ThreadLocalMap中set源码

/**
         * Set the value associated with key.
         *
         * @param key the thread local object
         * @param value the value to be set
         */
        private void set(ThreadLocal<?> key, Object value) {

            // We don't use a fast path as with get() because it is at
            // least as common to use set() to create new entries as
            // it is to replace existing ones, in which case, a fast
            // path would fail more often than not.

            Entry[] tab = table;
            int len = tab.length;
            int i = key.threadLocalHashCode & (len-1);

            for (Entry e = tab[i];
                 e != null;
                 e = tab[i = nextIndex(i, len)]) {
                ThreadLocal<?> k = e.get();

                if (k == key) {
                    e.value = value;
                    return;
                }

                if (k == null) {
                    replaceStaleEntry(key, value, i);
                    return;
                }
            }

            tab[i] = new Entry(key, value);
            int sz = ++size;
            if (!cleanSomeSlots(i, sz) && sz >= threshold)
                rehash();
        }

从Entry中的源码中可以看出,在创建Entry时,会调用父类的构造方法,直接查看初始父类Reference源码:

public abstract class Reference<T> {

     * whether or not the instance was registered with a queue when it was
     * created. In the former case it also adds the instance to the
     *     pending-Reference list.  Newly-created instances are Active.
Unregistered instances are
     *     never in this state.
     *     null.
     *
     *     Pending: queue = ReferenceQueue with which instance is registered;
     *     next = this
     *
     *     Enqueued: queue = ReferenceQueue.ENQUEUED; next = Following instance
     * in queue, or this if at end of list.
     *
     *     Inactive: queue = ReferenceQueue.NULL; next = this.

会将TheadLocal实例对象的引用(也就是ThreadLocalMap中的key)保存到referent变量中.
4.ThreadLocal中的get方法
get源码:

/**
     * Returns the value in the current thread's copy of this
     * thread-local variable. If the variable has no value for the
     * current thread, it is first initialized to the value returned
     * by an invocation of the {@link #initialValue} method.
     *
     * @return the current thread's value of this thread-local
     */
    public T get() {
        Thread t = Thread.currentThread();
        ThreadLocalMap map = getMap(t);
        if (map != null) {
            ThreadLocalMap.Entry e = map.getEntry(this);
            if (e != null) {
                @SuppressWarnings("unchecked")
                T result = (T)e.value;
                return result;
            }
        }
        return setInitialValue();
    }

从源码中可以看出,先获取当前线程,然后获取当前线程的TheadLocalMap的引用,然后后期TheadLocalMap中的Entry变量,然后从Entry变量中获取保存的值
查看ThreadLocalMap中的getEntry方法:

 /**
         * Get the entry associated with key. This method
         * itself handles only the fast path: a direct hit of existing
         * key. It otherwise relays to getEntryAfterMiss. This is
         * designed to maximize performance for direct hits, in part
         * by making this method readily inlinable.
         *
         * @param key the thread local object
         * @return the entry associated with key, or null if no such
         */
        private Entry getEntry(ThreadLocal<?> key) {
            int i = key.threadLocalHashCode & (table.length - 1);
            Entry e = table[i];
            if (e != null && e.get() == key)
                return e;
            else
                return getEntryAfterMiss(key, i, e);
        }

Entry中的get方法是使用的Reference(祖父类)中的get方法:

 public T get() {
        return this.referent;
    }

从源码中可以看出,是获取到了set方法保存的ThreadLocal对象实例的引用

总结:综上,可以看出,每一个线程初始化时会持有一个ThreadLocalMap实例对象的引用,当需要存储值时,会将当前ThreadLocal对象实例作为key存储到ThreadLocalMap中,取值时会将TheadLocal对象实例作为key在ThreadLoaclMap中取出相应的值
